Yard Sales!

We braved the cold, the snow and the 32 degree weather and went to the Rugby city-wide yard sales today. The kids had fun for the most part. Found a few bargains and had pizza for lunch. Fun times! Below are some of the bargains we found for the kids. We have been looking for some dress up clothes for a while.

Cakes

I have spent a few days making cakes this week. First I made some cakes for Larry Pieterick's retirement. He drove school bus for the Wolford School for 42 years. Then, of course, I had to make Sara a birthday cake. Hope she had a great birthday!!

My Kids.

Here are a few updated pictures of the kids over the last month or so. Enjoy!
Here is a little story about Emily. Lexi was crying as I did my grocery shopping this morning Imagine that =) ! So a kind lady gave her some cheap little kids jewelry to play with, take home, whatever to keep her happy. Well Emily found the two beautiful rings that came in the package and was playing with them. She placed one on one hand and one on the other hand. And said to me. "Mommy I feel love when I wear this ring on this hand, and I feel like I'm married when I have a ring on this hand. I also feel love with God. Cause you know God is walking with us all the time no matter where we go." I agreed and she went on to say "Sometimes when I pray at night I ask God to sleep with me, cause you know He must get tired with all that walking around with me."
Kyle is becoming an expert at Mario-Kart Wii. He just recently completed all the Grand Prix races getting gold in all of them. He is also doing quite well in school and is becoming more social. His favorite TV show is still "Fetch, with Ruff Ruffman" and learns all sorts of cool things from it. One of his greatest challenges in school is writing sentences, but he's learning. Posted on the wall at school was one of his latest sentences from his spelling words "He froze the peach after he kicked it." He managed to use 3 spelling words, peach, froze, and kicked. Good Job!
Lexi is sure learning how to talk more and becoming more aware of how she says things. She has quit calling Emily "Me-me" and has started using "Em-u-we" and when she needs my attention and isn't getting it as promptly as she would like she hollers "Mommy, OH, Mommy!" (not sure where she picked that up because my other kids don't say that, but it's pretty cute)
Lexi loves backpacks (and apparently hats and mittens as well)

Movie Night!

We don't often have a movie night for the kids at our house. So one night after getting "Horton Hears a Who", we did. The kids had a great time. Mommy even let them eat their pizza and popcorn in the living room with blankets on the floor and they loved it. Lexi even managed to watch for a little while, until she remembered that she is only two and two-year olds aren't supposed to be able to sit long enough to watch a movie, but she had fun anyway. It was a great night.

Lexi turns 2!!

Lexi turned two on January 31st. We celebrated on Friday evening so "Tia" Sara could be with us. She had Grandpa K, Grandma Y, Tia Sara, and the Slaubaugh kids to celebrate with her.

Lexi didn't want to take pictures. Daddy helped with a little tickling!
Daddy had to blow out the candles. Lexi wasn't interested. Too many presents I guess.
Kyle made Lexi a cool birthday greeting!!
